This blockage is thought to be McGregor's contract with the UFC and President Dana White's unwillingness to allow the Irishman to cut the organisation out of a deal.

Having risen rapidly through the premier organisation in mixed martial arts, McGregor holds enormous power as the UFC's foremost superstar so White's reluctance to sanction a fight is understandable.
The UFC President told the Telegraph: 'He's (McGregor) under contract with me. How would I let somebody take this guy that I built and do it without me? That would be the stupidest move in history.'

Conor McGregor (left) and Floyd Mayweather are reported to have agreed terms to fight

Source close to the Dubliner told the Irish Sun that the mega-fight could be announced within two weeks.

Alarm bells started ringing when McGregor cancelled a Q&A in Ireland to fly out to Las Vegas.

Rumors of both fighters' entourages meeting in Nevada, where McGregor is filming an anti-bullying campaign, now appear to hold weight despite Mayweather originally claiming he would stay retired.
